Production In the world of animation, paperless refers mostly to the ability to produce animation without using paper. Toon Boom Digital Pro and Toon Boom Harmony optimize and uniform your production pipeline, simplifying the daily production requirement. It is no longer necessary to convert your files back-and-forth between different applications or to struggle with applications not really made for 2D animation. There are several methods are available for creating 2D animation with computer and two are currently widely used by the industry:
Frame-by-Frame Paperless Animation: In the spirit of traditional animation, frame-by-frame paperless animation enables the animator to produce 2D animation using the same methodology as traditional animation. By taking advantage of paperless production, the studio saves time as each animator can now review their animation on-the-run without waiting for scanning for each pencil test.

Cut-out Animation: Between shadow puppetry or stop motion animation, Cut-out animation consists of breaking down a puppet into pieces that are moved independently over time. Since characters and objects are made out of many parts, the animator does not need to redraw them on each frame, but moves or distorts the parts to create the animation.
